At a meeting of the Citizens of Findlay Ohio
who intend going to California. held in the Au-
ditor Office on the night of January 9th
1849 The meeting was called to order by ap-
pointing David Patton Chairman. And Chas.
S. Coffinberry Secretary Pro Tem. For the purpose of
determining who were entitled to vote at the meeting
Thirty members came forward and subscrib-
ed their names to a written "Pledge to go to
California" Any of whom were deemed legal vo-
ters The Constitution of the "Findlay and
California Gold digging Company" was then
taken up announced discussed and adopted
Each clause separately as it appeats at the
end of these proceedings.
On Motion the following Committees were ap-
pointed by the Chairman
Committee to determine and draw up Bills
of Purchase of the necesary provisions & c to be shipped
from the East Squire Carlin [brackets] G.R. Nightingale
Wm Taylor [brackets] Wm Carlin
Jesse Bleson [brackets]
