Description	These four photographs show Hiram College students on a trip to Europe in 1950. In the first photograph students are standing in front of the R.M.S. Queen Elizabeth. The 5" x 3" (12.7 x 7.62 cm) photographs are part of scrapbook kept by Roger Fink, a student who went on the trip. Hiram College has had an "extramurals" program since the 1949-50 school year, when Dr. Albert Levy and 26 students in his Western culture course boarded the R.M.S. Queen Elizabeth bound for Europe. The program grew to include more academic disciplines and additional host countries. Between 1950 and 2002 more than 80 Hiram College faculty members have led more than 3,500 students on programs to Europe, the Americas, Africa, Asia, and Australia. Many trips abroad have a service or social justice component added to enrich the curriculum.
