The Pemberville Public Library in cooperation with the Pemberville-Freedom Area Historical Society is delighted to have the opportunity to make these digital images from the Dale M. Bruning Local and Family History Room and other sources available to the public. The funding for this project came from an LSTA (Library and Services Technology Act) and is administered by the NORWELD regional library system.
In 1937 the Pemberville Mental Culture Club was instrumental in establishing the Pemberville Public Library. In 1962 the Stony Ridge Branch opened followed by the Luckey Branch in 1990.
In 2007, as part of the library's open house dedication celebrating the completion of building and renovation projects, the local and family history room was designated as the Dale M. Bruning Local and Family History Room. Mr. Bruning, a retired teacher and coach, has been a dedicated researcher and compiler of Pemberville and Freedom Township history.
