The origin of- superstitions, their humorous aspects, and tlieir uifiuences upon our persons will be the-subject for discus¬ sion by thirty young people of the Bryden Road Temple Forum at their next meeting on Monday, March 15, at 8:00 p. m. German Jewry Fears Nazi Retaliation over La Guardia Incident Ezras Noshim Society Seeks Passover Contributions For the benefit of the. many needy Colnmbus Jews, the Ezras Noshim Society is cooperating with Miss Rose Sugarnian, of the Schonthal Center, by a:ppealing to all the. A series of nation-wide mass meetings is .already under way to whip .up lag¬ ging sentiment against the Jews. Other measures, as .yet undisclosed, are also contemplated.- - In Jewish circles the .alarm is now as great as it was in March and April 1933. It was a most happy and cheerful gathering of incn and iwonien in all walksof life wlio have come to know "bicTrhearted Ed" as a prominent iliember of the CoUmibus bar, as a civic leader, IS'a. champion, of Jewish rights, as a friend of/Jewish Education, as a pillar of the Synagogue, as a philanthropist par excellence, and as a man who has given the best years of his life towards as¬ suaging the ills of humanity and ameliorating the sufferings of the - poor and the needy. Everyone present seemed to enter into the spirit of the oc¬ casion, thereby inaking it one of the real red letter days in the annals .of this community. . A. A. The toastmaster was State Commerce Director Alfred A- Benesch who has been intimately as¬ sociated with Mr. Schanfarber in I many splendid enterprises; He paid a glowing tribute to his friend and co¬ worker, referring to him as "the most signiiicant Jewish ciuVen in Colum- -bu3." Post held Tuesday, March 0th, at Memorial Hall; it was unanimously decided to proceed with immediate plans for the casting of a plaque on which will he inscribed the names of all the deceased Jewish war veterans of Franklin county. Please pay your subaerip- lion BOW. Jewish War Veterans To Inscribe Names of Dead On Plaque At the meeting of the J. W. V. Post held Tuesday, March 0th, at Memorial Hall; it was unanimously decided to proceed with immediate plans for the casting of a plaque on which will he inscribed the names of all the deceased Jewish war veterans of Franklin county. This plaque witl be' unveiled at the memorial services to be held late in May, A siKcial committee composed of Allan Tarshish, David Pastor and Sam Solomon have issued a letter to a large .^number of Colunibus Jews advising them of the plans for the plaque and urging their individual liberal contributions for the financial quota needed to finance this program. The names of subscribers for. the plaque.fund will be mentioned during the iiext few weeks in the Ohio Jew¬ ish Chronicle.
