This Jaycee program's prime concern is traffic: safety with emphasis placed on pedestrian and vehicular safety in all their many form, - walkingtoand from school, behavior patterns for riding the school bus, bicycle ridingandgeneral highway signs andsig- nals. Each session runs for two weeks. Each class during a session is two hours per day. Morning and afternoon classes are available. All. classes will be conducted at Clearmount Elementary School in North Canton. Projected chairman John Allen stated that morning sessions are held from 10 a.m- to 12 noon. Afternoon sessions are from 1p.m. to 3 p.m. The schedule of sessions is as follows: June 13- June 24; June 27 - July 8 (No class on July 4); July 11 - July 22; July 25- August 5. ^ There is a registration fee for the two - week session. Telephone • registration will begin on April 19 Mondays - Fridays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m, untilclasses are filled. The Rally, one of seven sponsored this year by the Ohio Department of Education, Vocational Division, Home F-conomics Section, provides students enrolled in the student organization FHA/HERO (Future Home- makers of America/Home Economics Related Occupations) an opprotunity to demonstrate skills acquired in the Vocational Home Economics Program. The students' performances were evaluated andsugges- tions offered for skill refinement by review teams composed of business and industry representatives, teacher educators, teach ers, school administrators and program alumni. First -place rating recipients now have the opportunity to attend the FHA/HERO State Convention, April 21-23, 1983, Veterans Memorial Auditorium, Columbus, and those students receiving the highest first - place rating will have the opportunity to participate in the State Skill Events. Honors received by the Hoover Food Service H.E. R.O. Two new activities will be included this year - a General Store and a Plant Shoppe. The prom is open to all students grade 11 and above. Dress is formal. Tickets_go on sale April 20 during'the - lunch periods at both campuses. Guests will be registered at the Ume tickets are sold. Music for the prom will be provided by the "Touch of Gold", led by Jack Midas. Refreshments will be served at intermission. Junior Penny Matz, daughter of Mrs. Joyce Matz, captured Second Place for "Fort, Whipple", a pencil drawing. "Evening Light", an air brush painting by John Hastings, won the Third Place award.
