moving to Uhio. Hawing lived
in our community during tne past
seventy-six years, Mr. JJarkliau
may truly be numbered as one
of Ottawa County's pioneers.
During this time be has built up
a good farm and has established
himself in the esteem of the en-|
tire community. lie was con-!

death of his wife oecured three'

[made his home with bis daugh-

[after an illness of ten weeks he
passed away last Friday noon.
. The funeral was held Monday
'afternoon, May 26, at' the St.
John's Evangelical Church ot
which he bad been an active
member for the past fifty years.
The services were conducted by
Rev. Soell. Burial t in Union
cemetery.
He is survived by a brother,
John Rarkhau, and one sister,
Mrs. Mary .Sanders; four (laugh¬
ters, Mrs. John Behring. Mrs.
