Dear SlTi
I was discharged from the Army Air Corps
September 1, 1945* On October first I began attending
night school at Cleveland College with the hulp of the G. Ic
Bill of Sights. I also began working full time at The
Harshaw Chemical Company in Cleveland on October first.
At the time of my enrollment in school* I
applied for partial subsistancs which I understood was in
line with the 0. I. plan. In some way my records were
incorrectly handled at Cleveland College* but I was assured
by both the achool and by the veterans Administration that
payment would be made as soon as my records were straightened out. This »Yas entirely satisfactory with me even
though I was in need of the money.
I now understand through the Veterans
administration that all pa^t time subeistance has been
discontinued if the veteran is employed full time. I can
thoroughly understand this move* btxt 1 cannot understand
why back subsistancs up to this discontinuance date is not
being paid. Throui.n no fault of my own my records were
mishandled and I droit t understand why I should stand this
loss when others have received their benefits.
I appreciate the fact that you are
terribly busy ft the present time* but 1 would sincerely
appreciate any information that you could pass on to me
regarding wnat I am entitled to or what I am not entitled
to in this case.
Thanking you in advance I remain*
Respectfully*
