Description |
Reverse reads in script, "Toledo Yacht Club." The photograph was taken from the water and shows the clubhouse of the Toledo Yacht Club. The Spanish style building was built in 1908 and is made of steel reinforced concrete. It is three stories tall with big windows and a large front entryway. Three boats are docked in front of the yacht club, included the Sister Sue. The Toledo Yacht Club is a private yacht club in Bay View Park, in Toledo, Ohio. It is located on the Maumee River, at the western end of Lake Erie. The Toledo Yacht Club is among the oldest yacht clubs in North America. It was founded in 1865 when two rowing clubs, the Undines and the Naiads, joined together and turned their attention to sailing. |
