Mr. Wm [William] Johnson, [illegible] Cincinnati
Kind regards to you, this is the item
enclosed of which I spoke in my letter last.
This prayer-book saved my life by stopping
a musket ball at Sailor's Creek. I hope
you may use it in your museum. I
have always put my trust in the Lord, and
he has done [illegible] always come through
for me. Please give my kind regards to the
boys and wish them well for me.
Your humble servant,
