Dies In Hospital
C. W. Bloom, 54, living about five miles east of Elmore, died in St. Vincent's hospital, Toledo, Sun¬ day morning. Mr. Bloom had been in failing health since last Novem¬ ber and on June 17 underwent an operation from which he seemed to be recovering nicely. A blood clot near the heart is thought to have been the cause of death. He was to have left the hospital Sunday morning and his wife and son had eome to take him home. He was stricken while awaiting their arrival.
He is survived by his wife and seven children. Mrs. Mabel Dun¬ ham of Woodville, Harold Bloom of Old Washington, Oliver Bloom of Elmore, Raymond. Myron, Luther and The] ma. at home; his father, Levi Bloom of Oak Harbor, and scveis. brothers and sifters, :'.II of whom live near or in Oak Harbor with the exception of a sister, Mrs. Clara Welter, who resides in Deni- son, Texas.
Mr. Bloom was born March 20, ! 1879, in Salem township, Ottawa | county. When the Harris township land Elmore schools consolidated iu- ! to a centralized school he was i chosen as a member of the new school board and served for some¬ time as a member of the board.
"Funeral services were held Wed¬ nesday afternoon from St. Paul's Lutheran Church near Lindsey -of which Mr. Bloom had been a life¬ long member.
