! Mr. Howard R. Colander, who has;
| been ill for several 'months past, died
■at his home on Orchard street at 11:40

I The unwelcome intelligence of -Mr.
I Bolander's death,- though it has been
j expected for some time, brings sincere
grief to those whose confidence and
I friendship he held through life.
The deceased was but forty-two years
of age, death coming untimely to rob
his family of a kind .-.husband and
father, and cut short a-earcer of use¬
fulness and promise. M wife and son
and daughter mourn their -loss, a broad
circle of fraternal friendshipsas broken
and the church with which' he * was
identified loses a faithful and \devoted

Mr. Bo-lander was a sqn'of Mr. John
Bokmdcr, who now resides at Danville,
Illinois, and was born alid reared In
■this city. .He was long ,identified
with the local shops as. askilled me-'
ehanic and always held'the highest re-1
gard of his employers. The approach of'
his last illness made it necessary for
-him to forsake the heavier work -to:
^•hich he had been accustomed and
geek employment at Danville more eon-
genial to his health. He diji not' re-
jnain there long, however, as his health
failed steadily and he returned to Ma_-
rion to pass his last days among ' his
old friends and associates. He-was a
valued member of Ma'rion Lipdge, No.
402, Knights of Pythias, being' "chan¬
cellor commander of the organization
at the time his health failed.' He was
also a member of the Independent Or¬
der of Foresters, in which ordeT " he
has occupied various positions of re¬
sponsibility. .' .
The. Knights of Pythias will''.have
charge of the funeral, which will be
held at the Free Baptist- church • at 1
o'clock Friday afternoon,, tho mernbpws
of the Foresters attending in a body],
Realizing that death was approach¬
ing, 'the-deceased made all of the nec-
essary'r arrangements for his funeral,
and- it "will he conductor! in strict ac¬
cord with his wishes.
Aside from the members ppf the fm-
ily mentioned, Mr. Bolandcr leaves
three brothers.
