DEATH OP MRS. GERHARD 11UF.D-
Mrs. Gerhard Bredbeck died at the
residence other son, Mr.,August Bred
beck, Saturday raorniug. at 2 o'clock.
at the ripe old age of 82 years. She
was born in Germany, and came to
this country when but a little child.
She was married to Gerhard Bredbeck
in New York City, in 1839, and a little
later they moved to Danbury, where
they have since resided.
Sbe was the mother of the following
children: Christina, (Mrs.F. L. Roth)
who died in'88; Henry Bredbeck, who
is a director in the German-American
Bank, of this city, and one of the prom
inent men of Danbury township; Mary
A. (Mrs. Von Sick) of Sandusky; Mr.
Geo. Bredbeck. also of Sandusky;
Amelia J., (Mrs. Tredor) of Cleveland;
Mr. August Bredbeck, and two who
died in infancy.
Mrs. B. was an earnest Christian
ladv, who brought her religion into the
wilderness and was one of those who
were instrumental in the upbuilding of
the doctrines of the Lutheran Church,
in Danbury.
The funeral was held Monday after
noon, at 2 o'clock, from the Lutheran
Church, at Danbury, Rev. lieitz officiat¬
ing, the vast concourse present testify¬
ing to the esteem in which this gentle¬
woman was held by relatives and ac¬
quaintances.
