Elzia I. Brookey, 83, former
Port Clintonite, died yesterday in
St. Luke's hospital at Cleveland
after a lingering illness. The
Brookeys', who formerly lived at
Fremont Road and Laurel, mov¬
ed to Cleveland five years ago
and resided at 2849 E. 124th-st.
His body is at the Neidecker-
Eberle-LeVeck mortuary where
calling hours will start at 7 to¬
night. Funeral services will be
held Wednesday at 2:30 from the
funeral home. The Rev. Hartwig
Pruess of Peace Lutheran church
will officiate and burial will be
made in Christy Chapel cemetery
Mr. Brookey is survived by his
wife, Lithe Belle Dailey Brookey,
the couple having been wed 62
years; four daughters. Mrs. James
M .Williams of Sandusky, Mrs.
Malcolm L. Tibbs of Port Clin¬
ton, Mrs. Glenn Aker of Cleve¬
land, Mrs. Muriel B. Fields of
Princeton, W. Va.; one son, Vin¬
cent Brookey of Cleveland ;two
brothers, Crommel Brookey of
Braunfel, Texas, and Dyke Brook¬
ey of Charlotte, N.C.; and a sister
Mrs. George Finmans of Wilm¬
ington, Del.; 12 grandchildiren,
and 14 great grandchildren.
He was born September 21, 1875
in Martinsburg, W. Va., the son
of Charles and Anna Dykes
