Walter Applegate Operated Stores in Northern Ohio
Walter Applegate, 63, of 251 Jef¬ ferson street, was found dead about 3:30 p. m. Wednesday, Sept 11, 1963, in his rooms at 251 Jef¬ ferson street. He apparently had been stricken by a heart attack when he was found by a neighbor who called police. The latter call¬ ed a doctor and sent an ambulance. A priest was also called to ad¬ minister last rites. •
Mr. Applegate formerly operat¬ ed grocery stores in various places in northern Ohio but had been re¬ tired since 1958. He came to Tif¬ fin from Oak Harbor where he was born March 3, 1900 to Charles and Mary Jane (Whiting) Applegate.
Mr. Applegate was never mar¬ ried. He is survived by his moth¬ er, and by a brother, George E., both of Oak Harbor. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic church.
Funera^ services will be held at 9 a. m. Friday in St. Mary's church and burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the Pahl-Nemeth funeral home after 7 p. m. today.
