Death came quickly and unex¬ pectedly to our deceased brother, Wm. A. Amdt, last Thursday noon, Jan. 18, a .short time aftisr he had been admitted as a medi¬ cal patient in Magruder Hcjsjpitai, Port Clinton. Son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Amdt, he was born Jan. 18, 1878, near Gray town. His age was 73 ;years, having been called out of this world to his eternal home on his 73rd birthday.
He was confirmed April 10, 1892 He married Miss Anna Sehwend- inger Feb. 22, 1908. Four 'Child¬ ren were iborn unto them. They lived on a farm northeast of Oak Harbor. On coming to this vicini¬ ty;, they united with* the local St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church of Which1 he remained a faithful <ffijember. He w*|s also a member of the iSit. John's Brotherhood. It was his custom to be in church, on the Lord's Day to confess Christ with the congregation and to edi¬ fy his soul with the Word of God. He was also a frequent guest at the Lord's table. Ate he was a be¬ liever in Christ, we comfort our¬ selves with the thought that his soul ip now with the Lord.
Besides (hds sorrowing wife, he leaves to mourn (his departure two daughters, Mrs. Otto Klick- man, Toledo, and Mrs. W. F. Deit- rich, Cleveland; two sons, Henry and Louis F., Oak Harbor; one [brother, Fred, Graytown, thirteen grandchildren and many other re¬
latives and friends. May God co* fort them and be with them on their pilgrimage through life.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the..St. John Ev. Lutheran Church. Pastors of (the church officiated. Interment was made in Union Cemetery.

Mr. Arndt died unexpectedly Thursday in Magruder hospital where he had been admitted a short time earlier for medical care.
A farmer, Mr. Arndt w?,s born Jan. 18, 1878 in Graytown, . the son of Fred and Eva Arndt. Feb. 22, 1©06 he married Anna Sch- wendinger of Fremont. His resi¬ dence was on Route 1.
Surviving besides his widow are two daughters, Mrs. Otto Klick- man, Toledo, and Mrs. W. F. Diet¬ rich, Cleveland; two sons, Henry
and Louis, both of Oak Harbor; a brother, Fred Arndt, Graytown; and 13 (grandchildren.
