OBITUARY OF WILLIAM AMES
The deceased, William Ames, the son of the late Dickerman Chamber¬ lain Ames and his wife, Rebecca, nee Perdue, was born at Elmore, Ohio on November 13th, 1843. He served in the Civil War in the 61st Ohio in* fantry. After his return in August of the year 1865, he was married to Miss Emma Essig, to which union one child was born, a daughter, Mrs. John Schling, now residing at Oak Harbor.
He died at Cleveland, Ohio on May 25th, at the age of 83 years, 6 months; and 12 days, and is survived by his daughter, Mrs. Schling of Oak Harbor, five grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Drake of Jackson, Mich., and one brother, Mr. Silas Ames of Elmore, Ohio. ' Funeral services were held on Sun¬ day afternoon, May 27th, at the Bur- *man funeral home, conducted by Rev. H. S. von Rape. Interment in El- rmore Union cemetery. »
