A.Pioneer at Rest.
Henry Avers, Sr., was born in Hanover, Germany, in 1827. At the age of six years he moved to America with his parents, locating in Elliston, where he spent many years of his early life. Later he spent some time in Toledo and Woodville. For the r>ast few years he had resided in this town.
In 1850 Mr. Avers was united in marriage with Miss Clara Wich- man, and to them were born ten ren, four of which have passed away. Those left, with the aged wife and mother, to mourn their loved one are H. L. land L. F. Averi, of this city; Mrs. Alice Koenig, of Columbus; Mrs. Wetgen, of Hessville; Mrs. Barkhouse, of Breedsville, Mich., and Mrs. Peterson, of Pine Bluff, Arkansas. % ~Xf- if
Mr. Avers had been quite feeble I for a year or more before his death, which occurred Monday, August 18, at his home on East Stevenson street. He spent a use¬ ful, honorable life, and was a kind husband and father, a good citizen and a christian gentleman.
The funeral wiil occur from the house this morning at 9:30 o'clock, coducted by Rev. Mohrhoff. In terment in city cemeterv.
