Lyman Ames, 86, of near Gray¬ town, died Wednesday 'morning', Nov. 16, following: a stroke of! Sparalysis suffered last Saturday.' Funeral rites will be held in his* late home on, Saturday, the 10th, \ a! 1:30 o'clock, with Rev. Neu-j ilnpeisttr conducting the service and \ :H. E. Burmann iurieral director., interment will be made in Elmore. j. He was stricken without appar¬ ent warning*, having just step- jped to his radio to "tune in" on i4 program shortly after dinner, (and fell unconscious to the rlcor jand never rallied. \ Mr. Ames has always been a {¦familiar figure ;on our streets, land was one of the few remain- H'pg'v«fer'39s of Fobert H. OBITUARY OF LYMAN AMES
v" Lyman Ames, son of 'Lysander ' Leeds and Mary Ann Ames, was born 6.n a. farm near Elmore, Nov. 4,1841. ; On Aug. 24, 1862, he enlisted An the :twenty-first regiment O. V. V". I. and j served until June 5, 1865, when he re¬ ceived, an honorable discharge.
Qn -Jan.' 11, 1866, he ..was 'mafi>?d "to Anna McGpwan at Fremont,-Ohio. To this union were born seven chii- ,dren, of whom five have preceded him in death.
; Shortly after the war Mr. Ames ^engaged in the lumber business near Elmore until 1876 when he moved to i.'Graytown where he was engaged in lumber business and also in mercantile {business with A. F. Frese. \ His wife passed away Jan. 8, 1907.
On April 8, 1909, he was married to Elizabeth Teachout who survives. He ;also leaves to mourn his departure two daughters, Mrs. L. G. Billings and Mrs. Louis Rupp, both of Toledo; three grandchildren, one great grand¬ child,-three brothers, John of Sheri¬ dan, Missouri, David of Elmore, Ohio, I Stephen af Latty, Ohio, and many 'other relatives and friends.
