Mrs. Alexander Dies In Toledo
OAK HARBOR — (Special) — Mrs. Mabel Mildred Alexander, 78, wife of C. D. Alexander of 218 W. Water-st and a widely known Oak Harbor resident since 1921, when the family came from Beav¬ er Falls, Pa., died at midnight in Flower Hospital, Toledo. Ill for several months, Mrs. Alexander had been hospitalized since Janu¬ ary 4. | q <fg .
Her body is at the Robinson mortuary, where friends may call starting at 2 p.m. Wednesday. Ser¬ vices are tentatively scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, with burial planned in Union cemetery.
Mrs. Alexander is survived by her husband, who retired in De¬ cember after operating the news agency, and who also was a hos¬ pital patient until his release last week; four sons, H. D. Alexander of Ventura, Calif., Robert of Las Vegas, David and Douglas of To¬ ledo; and eight grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, a sister, four brothers, and two sons, William who died in 1949 after a heart attack, and Charles, killed when he was five in a log accident.
She was a member of Oak Harbor Eastern Star, Literary and Social Club, and Circle 1. She was an organist and choir director at Beaver Falls Episcopal church for many years. Mrs. Alexander was born Dec. 16, 1879 in Beaver Falls.
