I The funeral of Mrs. Mary Annj/^ lAldrich was held Wednesday, Feb. F |9, 1:30 p. m. at the residence of her Ison, postmaster H. N. Aldrich of I this place, having been brought I here Tuesday evening. Feb. 8th, | - Il898, from Wellington, Ohio, I where she died Sunday evening, |Feb. 6, at 12 o'clock p. m. at her j , | daughter's, Mrs. Solon Tucker.
She had been sick only seven days;being taken violently sick with stomach trouble and was followed by severe chilis. She was very patient in her sickness and seemed to recognize h'er many friends un¬ til the laSt. but was unable to talk for some time previous to her death. Mother Aldrich was born at Bennington, Vermont, March 1St. 1816, died Feb. 6th, 1898, living to the ripe age of 81 years, 11 months and 6 days. She was enter red in Union Oenietry beside her husband, George W. Aldrich,who died Aug. 7th, 1877. She moved to Lorain county with her parents when quite young. She was married May 1834, at Brunswick, Medina Co.(Ohio),* to—Gh- W. Aldrich, -They com¬ menced on a farm two miles from Brunswick Center where was born to them nine children of which six survive, Mrs. Hanna Brooks, Grand Rapids, Mich., Can dace Bizz* aid and Edward Aldrich, Monroe Center, Mich., EL N. Aldrich, EL more, 0., Aeenath Cole, Pittsfield, O., and Clara Tucker, Wellington, O.
They moved to Elmore in the spring of 1873, after her husband's^ death in 1877 she continued to livefr here until 1885 when she wrent to j live with her daughter Mrs. Cole at
| Elmore and her chil lren in Michi-
| gan quite often.
Mother Aldrich left a large circle
j of friends in Elmore. She was kind and cheerful always looking on the bright side and imparting her cheerfulness to all she came in contact with. She was a member of the M. E. church for over fifty years always taking an interest in church work. She will be missed by her many friends and especially by her children as was so aptly said
