and revered citizen, while Ottai
county lost its last Civil War v<
eran, and the local post Grai

exist with the death of Mr. DuBr
for as long as he lived the Elmo

Mr. DuBrie died in the home
his son, Lester J. DuBrie, last Sa
urday morning about 5:30 of infirr
ities of age, after having been eo
fined to his bed about one wee
having reached the age of 91 year

He was born on Presque Isl
Sept, 4, 1846, and was an orphe
from the time he was four years ol
He joined the Union army when
lad of 17 being a member of ti
41st Regiment, O. V. I. He toe

minor skirmishes, and came throug
them all without an injury. E

Ottawa county.

was united in marriage to Mar
Soncrant of Locust Point. He wa
a successful farmer and retire
from his farm in Carroll townshi
north of Oak Harbor, 23 years age
and with his wife, came to Elmor
to live having purchased the Bode
man property just east of town
After the death of his wife 21 year
ago he took up his residence witl
his sonf Lester, with whom he livec
until his death. He was a kinc
man and lived a full and noble lift
and it is with deep sorrow that those
who knew him best are sadden by
his passing.
Mr. DuBrie is survied by twe
sons, Lester of Elmore, and Stanley
of Detroit, and a ? daughter, Mrs,
Rella O'Harn of LosAngles, three
grand children and two great grand¬
children and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held from
the DuBrie home Monday after*
noon. Rev. Karl W. Scheufier of
Cincinnati, former pastor of Trinity
M E church, here, officiating.
Burial was made in Union cemetery.
Sabroske& Myers had charge of the
services. -
The Elmore American Legion had
their services at the cemetery. Mr.
DuBrie was an honorary member
of the local post.
